The Cretaceous/Paleogene (K/Pg) Postdoctoral Researcher will conduct research on the recovery of life, particularly Paleocene mammals, after the K/Pg mass extinction. This is a two-year term position with the possibility for extension. The successful candidate will be an outwardly focused paleontologist with a record of peer reviewed publications.

Essential Duties
- Research (85%):
- Publishes peer-reviewed research, particularly on early Paleocene mammals.
- Conveys scientific results to the scientific and public communities
- Collaborates with DMNS staff, interns, and external partners to produce new scholarship, improve collections or databases, and conduct outreach.
- Prepare and submit permit reports and maintain detailed records of fieldwork activities.
- Outreach (10%):
- Organize and deliver public talks, workshops, and presentations on project findings and paleontology topics.
- Set up and manage informational tables and exhibits at relevant events and conferences.
- Create and distribute casts and other materials for partners and educational purposes.
- Collections Support (5%):
- Assist in identifying fossils for collections.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
- Ph.D. degree in Paleontology, Geology, Biology, or a related field by spring of 2025
- Field research experience
- Peer-reviewed publication record
- Proficiency in using relevant software for data entry, tracking, and analysis.
